Shopping in
Costa Rica
With
Costa Rica developing as an economy and a business destination, the needs and
tastes of people have risen to never before levels. This has bought in an
influx of products and services to the markets of Costa Rica that did not exist
a few years back. With, globalising being the trend, the shopping experience
has never taken the backseat. The development of shopping malls and arcades has
been in full swing for some time now and Costa Rica offers, probably, the best
shopping experience in the whole of South America.
Countries
with emerging economies have experienced the rise shopping malls, shopping
plazas that have changed the meaning of markets and shopping. These markets
have made shopping a lot easier as they include a galaxy of products that are
commonly used by customers. Emerging countries like Costa Rica have also been
included in this shopping hysteria that is rocking markets all over the globe.
Costa
Rica offers a wide range of products to its consumers that reflect on the
nation’s rich culture and heritage. The market scene of the country is largely
dominated by the beautiful craft works found in the artisans’ market. The
wooden articles, hand-made ceramics and the straw items pull buyers from all
over looking to collect valuable works of arts. The reproductions of
pre-Columbian silver and gold pieces are on of the most bought handicraft items
that buyers look to buy. The handicraft industry which has a strong base in the
country is greatly valued by the society as the artefacts are sold at
prestigious places like the “Plaza de la Cultura”.
Besides this form of traditional
markets, Costa Rica is also equipped with the recent forms of markets and
shopping procedures followed in other places. The Costa Rican society is full
of huge shopping malls to small boutiques that more or less characterises the
market scene of the urbanised areas. The Multiplaza in Escazu, the Mall San
Pedro is one of the few names that represent the huge number of malls found in
the place. The stretch of land that is identified as central Costa Rica is
crowded by innumerable shopping centres along with a chain of great
restaurants.
However
one of the most important shopping centres of this place is the San Jose
Central Market which is heaven to shoppers from all over the world. The market
here is home to scores of small hawker stalls that sell almost anything one
could think of at unbeatable price ranges. However the only drawback of this
place is the fact that it is very crowded.
The
variety of markets and the traditional handicraft markets that reflect the rich
culture of the place are one of the main attractions to shopping communities of
the world. The markets of this region offer a rare collection of items that
gives it the title of being a shopper’s delight. The easily accessible markets
are gaining worldwide attention even more as they provide all the necessary
information to distant clients through the reliable source of the internet.
Shopping enthusiasts are therefore requested to visit these places for the
ultimate in shopping experience.
