Costa Rica Beaches
Often
referred to as “muchas playas” in Spanish, the Costa Rican beaches are among
the most beautiful places on the earth. With the idyllic coastline stretching
over a thousand an eight hundred kilometers, Costa Rica is home to a number of
breath taking beaches, embellished with all the endowments of nature, ranging
from rocky coastal areas to gorgeous white sand beaches embroidered with palm
tree lines.
The
beaches of Costa Rica have something in store for everyone, of every age taste and
every liking. The extremely well-devised art-work of nature, Costa Rica has
golden sand beaches, black sand beaches, grey sand beaches, pink sand beaches,
white sand beaches and of every other chrome. The multitudes of beaches form a
palette of the Artist and can be found to dot all along the country’s lush
coastal plains. The country, undoubtedly, is the ultimate destination for all
the lovers of sea and is true spectacle in all senses of the term.
Costa
Rica is bounded by the Caribbean Sea on the east and by the grand Pacific Ocean
on the west. The Guanacaste coastline, also referred to as the Golden Coast,
has many gorgeous beaches, endowed with plenty of developed resorts and luxury
hotels and there are others that are scantily populated, with only a few
people. This coastline had always been among the most popular destinations, and
recently it has gained even more momentum due to the opening of the
International Airport in Liberia.
Montezuma
is a popular destination for the relatively younger foreign population an is
located on the inner rim of Gulf of Nicoyo. The beach is self-satisfactory,
with ample hotel destinations and the Cabo Blanco National Park is nearby.
Naranja to Cabo Blanco is the inner rim of the Gulf of Nicoya. The beaches in
this region are extremely fascinating and although the beach is considered to
be among one of the remote places, it is very easily accessible.
Puntarenas
is the main old port on the pacific. The most important city on the Pacific
coast, Puntarenas houses numerous hotels and eating-houses, and has many
marinas and commercial fishing ports. Slightly down south from Puntarenas lies
the Jaco Beach. The tourism structure of this beach is highly developed and it
attracts both native and foreign tourists alike. The Quepos and Manuel Antonio
are two other beaches along the Pacific with beautiful hotels and a National
Park bang on the oceanfront.
Osa is
the southernmost peninsula on the Pacific. This is an extremely pristine and
wild area that interfaces Costa Rica’s biggest national park, the Corcovado
National Park. The Corcovado and the Drake Bay area are among the most popular
destinations in Costa Rica. The experience can be caused to achieve a totally

Cahuita is closely located to Limon and houses a national park that protects
the coral reef and the associated marine life from potential threats. Puerto
Viejo is a breath-taking place, lying down the coast from Cahuita, and has
numerous exclusive hotels and resorts that will greet you with extreme warmth.
Tortuguero, lying to the north of Limon, is a beautiful exquisite place,
comprising of several natural canals that grace the place with their utmost
beauty. The common sighting include turtles, garfish, caimans, and manatees, to
which Tortuguero is their habitat. Barra del Colorado is a fishing heaven and
is garnished with many luxurious fishing lodges.
