Curu National Wildlife Refugee
 Located just 12 kilometers from Tambor, Curu National Wildlife Refuge and Hacienda is home to some of the most diverse wildlife found in the peninsula. At just 84 Hectareas (approx. 200 acres) Curu provides the most intimate wildlife experience available. Along a pristine, white sand beach, travelers and explorers alike can take advantage of the amazing sights and wildlife. There are over 232 species of birds as well as several species of animals and turtles. It is enjoyed as a relaxing day at the beach or the more curious travelers can explore the many trails which wind throughout the protected park.
A large amount of the park still has restricted areas and only scientific personnel may enter but there is still much to explore and see. Snorkeling is very popular here as well as Curu plays host to the breeding grounds to many local, Pacific fish.
Have your camera ready at every second because there are always White faced monkeys, Howler monkeys, Spider Monkeys and Scarlet Macaws abound. Also, you’ll find an abundance of other furry creatures scurrying about…some you know and some you may not...Like the Raccoon, white-tail deer, Collared Peccary, Coyotes, Coati, Iguanas and countless more.
 Also, cabins are available for rent to the more adventurous visitors. Each cabin is lit by candlelight but they are comfortable. The waves crash within feet of the cabin and living so rustically give the guests the opportunity see the wildlife in the morning, when it is most active.
Services (Open 7 AM to 3 PM )
- $8 entrance fee per person per day in the refuge
- $8 per night for a bed in a cabin per person
- $4 Breakfast, $5 Lunch, $5 Dinner per meal per person
- Horse Rentals cost $10 for hour
